Who We Are
Bless the Bullys is a safe haven and foster home for American Pit Bull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers in need in Middle Tennessee. We work in conjunction with local animal shelters to rescue bullys who have been abandoned, abused, neglected or that are in other unfortunate circumstances.
Bless the Bullys is a small, home based rescue. There is no facility or visiting hours - all visits are by appointment only, and visits are only scheduled once an application has been submitted and approved by me.
Unless otherwise noted, all the Bless the Bullys dogs are in my personal care and live in my home. They are temperment evaluated and adopted as house pets ONLY. Under no circumstances, will any Bless the Bullys dog will be adopted for purposes of being used as a guard dog or a fight dog. I am dedicated to improving the lives of these wonderful animals and to finding them loving, FOREVER homes!
I DO NOT - under ANY circumstances - accept owner surrenders. Please do not ask. I will, however, assist you in rehoming your pit bull or AmStaff and/or list your dog for you. If you are not willing to keep your bully until another home can be found for him or her, DO NOT CONTACT ME
as I am unable to assist you.
Bless the Bullys is also extremely active in the fight against breed specific legislation. Breed specific legislation or "BSL" is regulation of your right to own - or in many cases - NOT to own specific breeds of dogs. Breed specific laws are based on myth and fear and are knee-jerk reactions to incidents within a community. Breed specific legislation removes fault from irresponsible dog owners and places fault squarely on the dog. Obviously, this fails to address the underlying problem of irresponsible, negligent or careless dog owners, and fails to maintain safey in the community. To learn more about breed specific legislation, please visit www.defendingdog.com.

Dogs listed as "Urgent" are courtesy listings for shelter dogs in urgent need of forever homes. Please find it in your heart to give one of these wonderful dogs a second chance at a great life!!

Before you Adopt
Before adopting a pit bull or AmStaff, I would encourage you to research the breed to determine if a bully is the right dog for you. Pit bulls are a little more of everything you can expect from a dog. They are smarter, more loving, more loyal, more persistent, more stubborn and stronger than most any other breed. Unfortunately, they are also more feared, hated, restricted, mythologized and the most abused breed of dog.
The typical pit bull is a unique and wonderful animal. They offer incredible companionship, are amazingly athletic and have a terrific sense of humor. There is truly no other breed like them, but they are not the dog for everyone!
Bullys as "Second" Dogs
If you already own a dog and are considering adopting a bully, please note that we will only consider adopting a bully that is the OPPOSITE SEX of your current dog. IN ADDITION, you should be aware that owning a bully breed dog along with another dog requires constant monitoring of their play and interaction and the ability to firmly establish yourself as the ?pack leader.? If you are not able to commit yourself to this, you should not consider adopting a bully breed dog as a "second" dog.
